I've done this for one big usability reason - our developers work on asp
driven websites so they need to see the code once it's gone through II.
Hence I created the sandbox on a share within the IIS directory structure.

Whats the reason it's bad apart from the increased network traffic issue
mentioned by Bo in another post?
