I don't think it's about the files, I have them in place. I can log into :pserver:cvs at cvs.cvsnt.org:2401/usr/local/cvs and get the latest CVSNT source, so my client should be OK. I installed directly over a working configuration. It's something about authorization, password error, impersonation or similar. I tested enabling/disabling impersonation, no change in the error message. If I remove myself from the CVSROOT/passwd directory, I get the error message: C:\WINNT>cvs login Logging in to :pserver:hoijarvi at 22.214.171.124:2401/SCM CVS password: ******** cvs [login aborted]: no such user hoijarvi in CVSROOT/passwd when I add myself into it: C:\WINNT>cvs login Logging in to :pserver:hoijarvi at 126.96.36.199:2401/SCM CVS password: ******** cvs [login aborted]: authorization failed: server 188.8.131.52 rejected access to /SCM for user hoijarvi I just recreated my password with this pwgen version of pwgen that sits in my server. the service folder contents are: Directory of C:\Program Files\CVS for NT 01/30/2002 09:00a <DIR> . 01/30/2002 09:00a <DIR> .. 11/14/1999 09:03p 507 authrnd.cfg 09/28/2001 10:38a 24,576 comerr32.dll 01/28/2002 06:30p 589,871 cvs.exe 01/28/2002 06:26p 41,014 cvsservice.exe 11/15/1999 12:25p 57,344 gollernd.dll 09/28/2001 10:39a 20,480 gss.exe 09/28/2001 10:38a 69,632 gssapi32.dll 09/28/2001 10:39a 16,384 kdestroy.exe 12/04/2001 11:22a <DIR> kerberos 09/28/2001 10:39a 20,480 kinit.exe 09/28/2001 10:39a 20,480 klist.exe 09/28/2001 10:39a 16,384 kpasswd.exe 09/28/2001 10:39a 61,440 krb5.exe 09/28/2001 10:38a 380,928 krb5_32.dll 11/14/1999 09:05p 552,960 libeay32.dll 12/05/2001 03:52p 16,384 ms2mit.exe 01/28/2002 06:26p 24,576 pserver_protocol.dll 12/05/2001 03:50p 24,625 pwgen.exe 01/28/2002 06:40p 7,545 readme.nt 11/14/1999 09:03p 1,425 ServerCert.pem 11/14/1999 09:03p 143,360 ssleay32.dll 09/28/2001 10:39a 77,824 telnet.exe 09/28/2001 10:38a 32,768 xpprof32.dll I went and added the other protocols that I don't use to the setup, but obviously that had no effect. Somehow, the service does not autheticate me. Any ideas?
