hi,

i get this error message when trying to log in to a cvsnt server (running
windows 2000) from a windows xp client:

C:\Documents and Settings\Root>cvs login

Logging in to :pserver:user at vidalia.cs.umass.edu:2401F:/cvs
CVS password: ******

cvs [login aborted]: connect to
vidalia.cs.umass.edu(vidalia.cs.umass.edu):2401 failed: An existing
connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

does anyone know what is causing this error or how to fix it?

the client and server are both running 1.11.1.3...the client is not on the
same domain as the server (hence the pserver), and i can log in to the
server from another machine on the domain using the same cvsroot as above

thanks, PB>>
