Yes, this is the actual program file that 'does the trick', it is a
perl program and like you I understand zero of what is written in
such...

I also tried using these scripts but I could never understand enough
to configure them correctly for use so I gave up.
Instead I wrote my own email program using Delphi and called that from
the loginfo file to get emails on commits. Works fine.
Never worked with newsgroups though.
