[cvsnt] Is usage of cvs.exe (as client) discouraged at thehostwhere the repository lives?

While I don't see any harm in following your advice, I also couldn't
quite follow your strong reservation against :local: mode when it is
used in a truly local fashion and especially when it is used read-only
as in this case.

As I said before, as far as I understood it :local: is what will
ultimately be used to access the repository anyway. The only difference
being that the cvs.exe will run with cmd.exe as parent process instead
of cvsservice.exe. Or am I missing something important?
