How many problems will I have when I upgrade to newer CVS verison ?

I don't want to install new version on clients machines, it is possible that
client can work good when I install new CVS version only on server ?

P.S. What is new option in CVS 1.11.1.3 (build 72) cvs lock service ?

Martin.
