Exact error message, please, as well as O/S and service pack level. The CVSNT
service is normally installed to start automatically, so you shouldn't have to
do anything special (unless you didn't follow the defaults when installing).

There is a situation where a service will hang when starting, thereby leaving
the registry locked, so you have to wait out the errant process. In a worst
case, this hang could be forever, so you will need to stop any running services
until it causes the locked service to error out. Once that is done, you can
usually figure out the culprit and set that for manual and reboot.
