WinCVS 1.2 used to keep the server connection open, but that's ancient
history... I'm not aware of anything that can hang the server at the moment
(certain combinations of control C and sserver can make it eat a fair bit of
CPU, but it recovers eventually even then).

Even after the client is dead there's still the cleanup to do, which after a
large update/commit can be quite substantial.  It's unusual for that to be a
problem though

The server here has been running for weeks without any problems, if that means
anything (through two releases + lots of merging, etc.).
