Yes... one of the things Norton sometimes does is remove the file while it
checks it.

btw. if you're seeing .new. rather than _new_ then you're running an old
client which has other problems (the rename to _new_ was done a while ago to
help with Norton filtering - it uses the first '.' to find the file extension
not the last one...)
