Ok, I'll make some vaguelly positive muttering noises, and then
say:
    How do I volunteer?

I suspect that you don't want two or three people doing the same
thing and then sending in conflicting patches (and nor would I
want to be one of those people).

Do I just announce my willingness here (cvsnt mailing list),
or on the cvs-bugs (or cvs-info) one (I'm subscribed to both)?
Or email Derek and Tony direct?

For the record: I'd be willing to put the effort into getting
mergepoints into the core CVS distribution. (Having already
done a bit of work on that area already.)
