By the default, WinXP uses simple file sharing; this will bother some of us to set security setting on folders. To overcome this situation, simply go to 'Folder Options' -> 'View' tab, then uncheck 'Use simple file sharing'. Hopefully, this would help someone setting CVSNT for the first time.
