It looks like you have localHost specified in your CVSROOT - could you
paste your entire CVSROOT value here?

I am awfully new to CVSNT (or even CVS for that matter) and am getting
the
following error when try to login using pserver:

cvs [login aborted]: Error reading from server localHost: -1: No such
file
or directory

I am running the cvsservice -test and see the following in my command
window:

C:\Program Files\cvsnt>cvsservice -test
CVS 2.0.9 (Sep 5 2003) starting in test mode.
TEMP/TMP currently set to C:\temp
Initialising socket...ok
Impersonation is enabled
Starting auth server on port 2401/tcp...
Starting named pipe server...
Registering service SPN... failed (Error 1332)
CVS initialised successfully
020a5b74: Process 00000154 started
020a5c65: Process 00000154 terminated

Any help/advice that anyone could provide would be great. Thanks.

Drew
