[cvsnt] Alternative to Network Shares?

An example, when I am on an Airplane and I have no access to the server, I need to make sure that I have a revision that includes the changes I have made while in flight, before making additional changes.

I don't understand what it means to "commit" when offline...  why do you
do this?
