It's certainly saved our bacon a couple of times with clients who were
*sure* it was our code causing their server to go over.

http://www.memtest86.com - free download of a version that fits on a
floppy (no other OS components needed) and bootable ISOs for those
machines without a floppy drive.  I keep both in the case that goes out
with me to client sites, and we routinely run it on new machines that we
get in.
