Alexander:  Check the service settings for CVSNT, make sure you uncheck
"Allow service to interact with desktop".

Someone had noted a week or two ago that the service was configured to allow
interaction with the desktop.  Turning that off will prevent that blank
window from appearing.  Since that setting isn't normally on by default, and
it's only happening recently, could it be a bug in recent installer?  I'm
thinking that existing installations might not see that happen if upgrading,
which would explain a lot.
