[cvsnt] Adding file extensions to CVS

I've never had to deal with it before, but I thought I rememberd that CVS has a file somewhere of file extensions which should default to being treated as binary.  Is that file on the server or the client?  If the file extension is listed in that file, will CVS automatically set the binary bit when adding a file to CVS?
