It's running across a LAN, so that shouldn't be a problem. There is AV
running on the server, I asked IT to disable it but they're sticking to
their 'all machines must have AV' policy. It hasn't been a problem so far,
but if it's likely to be causing these delays then I'll have another go at
getting it disabled.
