You have the source... Microsoft have their source (and I don't have 
access to the OS source) so it's something they are in a good position 
to sort out.

That code has been stable since 2.0.30ish and there haven't been any 
reports of problems with it recently - however it's low level enough 
that if a 3rd party app is doing something odd it could blow things up - 
in that case disable it, or find out what's upsetting it and disable 
that.  You'll lose pserver but that's not an issue these days as most 
people use sspi.
