That's *really* old.  Prehistoric in fact.

Either that or it's an old cygwin CVS not CVSNT at all (which is also 
pretty prehistoric now).

Hyperthreading can sometimes be quite slow due to caching issues... it's 
nowhere near as efficient as two processors (or dual-core, which is 
essentially two proccessors on the same silicon).
