That would suggest your machine does not in fact have a Pentium 2, but 
an original pentium.

The code may not run correctly on such a processor.  It's definately not 
tested as such hardware is hard to find now..  even the secondhand shops 
don't sell anything earlier than a PIII.

Run Winmsd and look at the processor there & post that if you're really 
certain it's a PII... might be one of the original models from 1988 that 
needs a special case (although I've not heard of any processors that 
needed that I wouldn't put it past intel to ship relabeled pentiums as PII).
