Your problem is not covered in the tour which deals with :sspi: access
without login only. I haven't ever seen this myself so far.

I just tried to reproduce this with my local CVSNT test server but no
backslash duplication ever takes place. I was using CVSNT 2.5.01.1998
and a 2.0.3-ish custom build of WinCvs.

Oh wait, I just noticed there is some mention about fixing backslash
behaviour and escaping in the ChangeLog. This is supposedly included in
WinCvs 2.0.1 and later. Maybe retry with that?

FWIW: The Flash tour is also available as a zipped download from the
CVSGUI project page at SF.net:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=10072&package_id=
14571&release_id=302146

Another alternative is
http://mitglied.lycos.de/ogiesen/wincvsnt-tour-readme.html
but that will be plastered with ads and is possibly blocked for you
just as well. Actually, the link I usually give (the
http://people.freenet.de/ogiesen one) only contains the loader html for
the tour. The actual .swf file is stored on the Tripod/Lycos server
given above as Freenet does not allow upload of such large files but
this way I avoid the ads on the Tripod page.

Hope this helps.
