Like main,1.2.3.4,1.2.3.5 for example....
Such a file would be hard to decode.
A main,1.2.3.4,1.2.3.5,1.1,main,1.2.3.4,1.2.3.5,1.2,SomeTagValue
versus
A main,1.2.3.4,1.2.3.5 1.1 main,1.2.3.4,1.2.3.5 1.2 SomeTagValue

easier....

By the way, what will happen in CVS if you try to version a file named
main.c,v??
Is this allowed? Will the RCS file be main.c,v,v then?
