The don't map directly to the repository of the server machine. 
Instead, from the client use a CVSROOT something like this:

:sspi:server:/repos

Where server is the server name and /repos is the repository name you 
set up when you initialized the repository through the control panel 
(again, assuming you set it up as server and used control panel).
