Not usually... client side problems are generally things like locked
files and rename problems.

Can't think what would break linux in that way.. What's the disk space
situation like - especially /tmp?

Failure to write to the server means a sudden loss in connectivity and
that's pretty rare normally... all the common failures are covered by
proper error messages.
