[cvsnt] Auditing and "checkin differences"

What happens if the "Store checkin differences" checkbox in the audit
config is checked?
I assume that the diffs will be stored into the database, right?

But if that is the case, what happens if files are binary, like 5 Mb JPG
images or the like?
Will there be an uncontrolled database file growth into the gigabyte
range after some hundred commits?
Or is this flag only valid for text files where a diff is normally
pretty small?
