Hi,

I have a question to which I hope the answer is easy. If I want to
increment the revision number of the main branch, say from 1.x to 2.x,
shouldn't the following command work?

cvs commit -r 2 <file>

On my system, client = wincvs 2.1.1.1 and server = 2.5.04.3125, the server
always returns "nothing known about 2, correct above errors". Am I doing
something wrong? All I want to do is basically create a new revision tree.

Thanks,

-Maurice
