Community technical support mailing list was retired 2010 and replaced with a professional technical support team. For assistance please contact: Pre-sales Technical support via email to sales@march-hare.com.

I have tried using http://customer.march-hare.com/webtools/bugzilla but
when I search it says 404 error so I'll try hitting up the list.

I am experiencing a problem in a source system where occasionally users
receive a

cvs [update aborted]: writing to server socket: error -1

The error continues each update. Restarting CVSNT Server services does
not help. However it only affects one tree when it happens. All other
trees appear to be available without problems. Only a reboot of the
server system itself will alleviate the error. It's Windows Server 2003
R2 SP 2.

We upgraded to the latest CVSNT Server build we could find, which is
2.5.04.3510

We are running TortoiseCVS 1.10.10 for our users clients, or using the
command line version of CVSNT which is 2.5.03.2382

Additionally, we are having problems with permissions on the remote
server. A file with a ,(comma) in front of it will appear on a commit or
tagging sequence and we have to manually remove it on the server to
clear it up.

Additionally, there are permissions errors locally in accessing the
/CVS/Repository file locally, but the problem is intermittent and
running another update command clears it up.

Is this a known bug?
