Whilst I personally think mailing lists are an ideal way to gather a public knowledge base, most of the techie people I know rarely use them today. Any advocacy that happens here also reaches a very narrow audience. So therefore we are finally deciding to catch up with the new millennium, about 10 years after everyone else...
