Ahh you have the broken autoconf problem.

Edit the config.h, and change the line

#define CVS_LIBRARY_DIR "12813{exec_prefix}/lib/cvsnt"

to

#define CVS_LIBRARY_DIR "/usr/local/lib/cvsnt"

Then recompile, etc.  This should help.

I really should put something about it in the Unix installation
guide..  never found out what causes it though, and 'autoconf is
broke' sounds a bit lame.
