I agree -- The error message seems to indicate the server wants to CD on
your local machine, which makes no sense (the client shouldn't have any
problem though).

I believe the security hole was in regard to a compromised server being
able to fool CVS into depositing files to locations outside the sandbox,
but I don't have any confirmation of that.
