[cvsnt] Error reading from server

That doesn't sound like anything I've seen, and your steps seem drastic
for the symptom (at first view, anyway).  Are there more symptoms?  Are
you POSITIVE that all that happened on the server was the cancelled
checkout prior to the failure?

We need more details to help.  You might check after the reinstallation
that the repository root is set properly.

When in doubt, reboot...
