Laptop Operating system??? By any chance XP-Home?
XP-Home has a crippled version of the networking system so this might
be the cause.
Also, check on your XP-Pro CVSNT server if you have:
WindowsExplorer/Tools/FolderOptions/View/Advanced/UseSimpleFileSharing
checked. If you have then uncheck this option and reboot, then try
again. (this option is really a *STUPID* recommendation from Microsoft
since it also cripples networking and the permission model.
