Being new at this, can you define what you mean as a script?
Are you meaning something written in Python?
I had this question as well and I know it's probably simple, but I'm 
having issues grasping the concept (or seeing an example).

You can put a script in the server-side scripts (e.g. "loginfo"). 
However, forcing a log message usually isn't the answer -- if you force 
developers to enter something you'll get lots of "junk", "blah", or 
"stuff" in the field.
