What version? 2.50 is not specific enough; give the FULL version number
on both the client and server side. (hint: #cvs ver).
[AB]We are on (2.5.03.2382)version

Use latest stable (2.5.03.2382) or better yet latest testing
(2.5.04.2471).

Got any anti-virus software running? What about firewalls?
[AB] Not using any antivirus\Firewall.

What command are you issuing? is not using -D, what is does your CVSROOT
environment var look like?

Try cvs -ttt <blah blah> so you get some diagnostics.
[AB] We are on SUSE Linux 10

Since you are using uptime I guess this means your server is not windows
based and you are on some flavour of linux (or Suse, OS X, etc.?)

[AB]We are using SUSE Linux 10

Or you could just restart xinetd and pkill any cvsnt processes, rather
than flipping the big red switch (which is a pretty drastic thing to do
BTW).
[AB]I agree, however upon restaring the xinetd but that does not help.
This is still 'The Last' option that we resort to.
