I am using CVSNT 2.5.03 installed on a server running Windows XP
Professional, and am accessing a repository on there via the CVS support in
RSA v6 (ie Eclipse). On my work network, everything works fine, all the
time.

When I am away from the office, I connect to my work network via Broadband
and a VPN. When I do this, CVS mostly works, but I get some occasional
failures. Certain files or directories will not synchronize, and if included
in a synch cause a synchronization failed message "Connection reset by peer:
socket write error". Another operation which fails is applying a version tag
across several projects.

A colleague of mine experiences the same failure with applying a version tag
even when on the work network (but it works fine for me on the work
network). Synchronize works OK for him on the work network.

There would seem to be some problem in the networking connection layer. Is
this problem known/familiar? Can anyone suggest a fix -- it is a little
irksome. Or how can I diagnose further what is going wrong and where (ie, is
it Eclipse or CVSNT that has a problem?!).

thanks in advance
dave
